FED:Asylum seeker boat intercepted

Customs says it's intercepted a suspected irregular entry vessel south east of Ashmore Island.

Home Affairs Minister BRENDAN O'CONNOR says it's believed there are 56 passengers and
four crew on board.

The group will be transferred to Christmas Island where they'll undergo security ..

identity and health checks.
