Trainer Jamie Sanders finally got the word she wanted to hear Tuesday afternoon. Teuflesberg will run in Saturday's 133rd Kentucky Derby.
Sanders was out Tuesday morning because Teuflesberg ranked 21st in earnings from graded stakes races. Only the top 20 earn spots in the nation's most anticipated horse race.
They got a reprieve when two horses in the top 20 in earnings were pulled out of the race. Xchanger, who won the Federico Tesio April 21 at Pimlico by 4 3/4 lengths, now will be pointed to the Preakness on May 19.
